Richard Ramirez
Born: February 29, 1960 - El Paso, Texas
Died: June 7, 2013 - Greenbrae, California
NIGHT STALKER
Talk about a creepy pants! Ramirez was known as the Night Stalker, the Walk-In Killer, and the Valley Intruder. This never-seen-a-dentist-before dude terrified the streets of Los Angeles from June '84 to August '85. Ricky Boy was 26 years old at the time of his arrest, proclaiming that what he did was equivalent to the actions of governments - just on a smaller scale (nice try). With lucky 13 as his confirmed number of kills, he’s one of the more infamous serial killers, mostly due to his acting ability as an occult aficionado, and his swirly wavy coif.

BELOW IS A GUIDE TO THE ICONS ON THIS KILLER'S PAGE IN OUR BOOK. ENJOY!
-
Ramirez left a pentagram as his calling card for pretty much every murder he committed. Using his victims' lipstick, he would draw his trademark symbol on various surfaces, including walls, mirrors, and even the thigh of one of his victims.
-
It’s been said that Ramirez has long had a fascination with Satan and devil worship, according to court records and interviews with friends and acquaintances. During his trial, Ramirez remarked that he used the pentagram to show his devotion to Satan. To further emphasize his allegiance, the killer boldly displayed a pentagram to the terrified jurors, accompanied by the chilling declaration of "Hail Satan."
-
Ramirez began tokin' the gange at the tender age of 10, and his father has been quoted as saying "I believe the marijuana he's been smoking put him out of control." When he was 17, he was arrested in his hometown of El Paso for posession. Mary Jane got him in trouble again in 1978 and 1982...before he moved on to auto theft, break-ins, rape, and murder.
-
Ramirez was a multi-weapon opportunist, as he used a variety: handguns, knives, a machete, a tire iron, and a hammer. However, knives were present during most of his crimes, including a 10-inch butcher knife that he used to stab a victim repeatedly before and after her death.
-
Ramirez was convicted of 13 murders, along with 5 attempted murders, 11 sexual assults, and 14 burglaries. Some sources report that he killed at least 14 and as many as 20.
Ramirez takes the crown for having more people obsessed with his hair than any other serial killer in history (just Google his name and "hair" and you'll see). At one time a lock was for sale and his wife signed a note of authenticity.
-
Ramirez stayed on the 14th floor at the Cecil Hotel in 1985 during his killing spree.
-
One of Ramirez's friends told a San Francisco newspaper that he was obsessed with the band ACDC, and that he misinterpreted many of their lyrics to be highly associated with the occult. At one of his crimes, Ramirez left his AC/DC hat behind. The police released a photo of the hat to the press, which led to the media going bananas trying to connect the song "Night Prowler" from Highway to Hell to Ricky Boy.
-
Symbols of the night - when the majority of Ramirez’s crimes were committed - attacking some of his victims when they were sound asleep.
-
Ramirez used a .22 caliber handgun, as well as a .25 caliber pistol. Police eventually found the .22 in Tijuana, and it was linked by balistics to Ramirez's murders.
-
Ricky Boy was a coke-head… He started at around 22 years old in LA, and it quickly became his drug of choice.
-
On July 22, 1988, jury selection was held for Ramirez - his first court appearance. During this session, Ramirez raised his hand to reveal a pentagram drawn in marker, while he yelled “Hail Satan!”
-
Ramirez was one of those killers who stuck around and ate snacks from his victim’s kitchen. He especially loved fruit and Mountain Dew. It has also been reported that he would pause while killing his victims to nosh.
-
Ramirez’s dad was a beast, and would tie him to a cross in a graveyard overnight as a form of punishment.
